چکیده

Permanent modifiers (Zr, W, Ru, Zr–Ru and Zr–W) thermally deposited on platforms inserted in pyrolytic graphite tubes and Pd 1 Mg(NO3)2 conventional modifier mixture have been employed for the determination of cadmium and lead in dissolved environmental, botanic and biological samples by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS). Optimum masses and mass ratios of permanent modifiers for Cd and Pb have been investigated. 240 mg Zr 1 240 mg W or 240 mg Zr 1 200 mg Ru has been found as efficient as 5 mg Pd 1 3 mg Mg(NO3)2 for obtaining thermal stabilization and for avoiding most serious interferences. Comparison has been made in terms of pyrolysis and atomization temperatures, atomization and background signal shapes, characteristic masses and detection limits. Long-term stability curves for analytes in samples with Zr, Zr–Ru, Zr–W and Pd 1 Mg(NO3)2 have been obtained. Cadmium and lead contents determined in certified and standard reference materials by using optimum conditions studied were in agreement with the certified reference materials.

Nickel as a chemical modifier for sensitivity enhancement and fast atomization processes in electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometric determination of cadmium in biological and environmental samples.

A systematic study of the efficiency of protons, Ni, Pd and Th as chemical modifiers for the determination of cadmium by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) using fast temperature programs was made for platform atomization. A comparison was made in terms of the salt type, absorbance-time profiles and elimination of the sodium chloride interference. The results were adapted to ...

Atomic Absorption Spectrometric Determination of Lead after Extraction and Preconcentration with 5-Br-PADAP

Lead is quantitatively retained on 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP)-ammonium tetraphenylborate with microcrystalline naphthalene or by a column method in the pH range 4.0-6.0 from a large volume of aqueous solutions of various samples with preconcentration factor of 60. After filtration, the solid mass consisting of the lead complex and naphthalene was dissolved wi...

Determination of Cadmium by Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectrometry after its Separation and Preconcentration by Syringe to Syringe Dispersive Liquid Phase Microextraction-Solidified Floating Organic Drop

The application of syringe to syringe dispersive liquid phase microextraction-solidified floating organic drop was extended for the separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of cadmium ions from water and cereal samples. The extracted cadmium was quantified by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Factors affecting the complex formation as well as microextraction efficiency such...

Determination of cadmium in wine by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry.

A method is described for direct electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometric (ETAAS) determination of cadmium in untreated samples of wine. Pyrolytic graphite tubes and graphite tubes with standard L'vov pyrolytic platforms were tested as atomizers. The detection limit achieved was 0.08 microg L(-1) Cd in wine. The relative standard deviation for the concentration range from 0.2 to 10 microg...

Determination of Cadmium, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Lead and Zinc in Lichens and Botanic Samples by Electrothermal and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Analytical Quality Control Service (AQCS) Chemistry Unit a research program was initiated for the identification of trace elements such as Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb and Zn in IAEA lichen-338 for a proficiency test (PT). This was to evaluate the possibility of using lichens as biomonitors of trace elements in atmospheric pollution. P...
